2010 Canopy Piloting Nationals – Picton DZ – Feb 17-21

These Guys and Girls are awesome to watch. Being a regular Skydiver myself and knowing what it takes to fly a Parachute and land safely makes me appreciate their talents much more. ‘Swooping’ is just one of many forms of Skydiving. Competitors exit the Aeroplane from 5000ft and deploy their Canopies (parachutes) straight away, then fly a circuit untilĀ  spiraling their Canopies to gain speed then level out just above the pond at speeds well over 100kmh, sometimes just touching the water with their toes for some exciting visuals. Below is a Gallery of some of the top shots from the Competition.
